In an important strategic turning point of the Blockchain ecosystem, Jordi Baylina, co -founder of Polygon and the main architect behind Zkevm effort, has just officially announced a new joint venture called Zisk, opening a new era for non -knowledge virtual engine technology (ZKVM).
After Polygon Foundation stopped operating the ZKEVM chain, it was expensive and turned to protocols such as Polygon POS and Agglayer, Baylina and the core development team decided to separate to continue the original mission independently, betting on the long -term potential of ZKVM.
🎯 Zisk - Renewating Zkevm's promise
Zisk is not merely a FORK version - this is a comprehensive rebooted effort, keeping the spirit of open source, but focusing stronger on the ability to execute with low latency, a key factor for applications in DEFI and Blockchain Gaming.
All intellectual assets (IP) from the original Zkevm project of Polygon were transferred to Silentsig GmbH, a legal entity in Switzerland owned by Baylina.
Zisk's official website confirmed that the project was nurtured from May 2024 and was officially separated on June 13, 2025.
Baylina shared:
"Zisk is the revival of Zkevm promise - but this time, with the focus completely on the actual performance and the ability to expand the scale required by the market."
💥 From "money -burning heritage" to strategy
Polygon's decision to abandon Zkevm immediately took place after Sandeep Nailwal took over the foundation, changing the development roadmap in the direction of priority and more practical applications. The Zkevm project is said to cost over $ 1 million per year, and although it has received hundreds of millions of dollars investment, it has not achieved a large -scale breakthrough.
According to researcher Blockchain Lorenz Lehmann, Polygon "quietly abandoned Zkevm", opened the opportunity for Baylina to continue the road by eliminating the inheritance structure and unnecessary operating costs.
⚙️ ZKVM's new ZKVM: Priority is prioritized for low lag and performance
Unlike existing Zkevm, which is inherently compatible with EVM, Zisk orientation to optimize ZK evidence with low latency, very suitable for applications that require high verification speed:
The verification time is cut from 40% to 60% compared to the current popular ZK solutions
Architectural support can be flexible configuration, paving the way for diverse deployment in DEFI, GameFi and Web3 applications
However, the Zisk group also said that these benchmark results will be independent, to ensure transparency and reliability.
🔓 Open source & decentralization: Inherited heritage
An important point for Zisk to receive support from the community is the commitment to keeping open source and without a license. Baylina affirmed:
"We not only develop advanced technology - we believe that equal access to tools and standards is a vital factor for real development blockchain technology."
📌 Temporary conclusion: Zisk is a symbol of continuation and direction
The introduction of Zisk is a clear testament to the separation trend and optimizing blockchain technology, where veteran teams choose to pursue a longer -term vision rather than submit to the short -term strategy of the parent organization.
In the context of ZK-rollup is becoming the mainstay of the next generation blockchain, Zisk represents a future where ZKVM is not just a test, but a technology that can be realized with breakthrough performance.
